Cycling Tour In Armenia 12 Days / 11 Nights
Arrival in Land of NOAH. At Zvartnots International airport you will be welcomed and assisted through immigration and customs by Santa Maria Tours representative, then escorted to your hotel. Following the check-in, your guide meets you at the lobby to start your trip with a city tour in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia and the largest city of the country. As one of the oldest capitals in the world, Yerevan was founded in the 8th-century BC and was known as Erebuni. You will visit some of the main streets of Yerevan such as Baghramyan and Mashtots Avenues, as well as Abovyan Street which still showcases century-old houses and historical buildings. Then, head to the Victory Park, from where a panoramic view of the city and the majestic Mt. Ararat opens. From the park, continue your walk through the Cascade, an architectural complex of a massive staircase with fountain terraces to the Opera and Ballet Theater. The Cascade also houses the Cafesjian Center for the Arts, which offers a rich collection of Armenian and international contemporary art, including a selection of artwork from the personal collection of its founder Gerard L. Cafesjian. After lunch, visit the legendary Armenian Brandy Factory that started its production in 1887 in Yerevan. Enjoy your dinner at a traditional Armenian restaurant offering a program of folk music and dances.

After breakfast in your hotel, meet your guide and driver in the lobby to start the day with a bike ride from Yerevan to Gyumri. Gyumri is the second-largest city in Armenia. The city is home to many historical museums, such as the Dzitoghtsyan Museum of Folk Life and National Architecture. Housed in a 19th-century historical building, the museum contains collections related to both history and the everyday life of the city, as well as paintings and other works of art. The tour around the city includes the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God of Gyumri which is a 19th-century church, known as the Cathedral of the Seven Wounds of the Holy Mother of God. Spend the night in Gyumri.

After breakfast in the hotel, ride to Hankavan, a small resort town boasting some of the most famous mineral waters in Armenia. Some mineral springs appear along the River Marmarik, a source of mineral waters, containing natrum, calcium, and magnesium. Due to its high mineral consistency, the water is known to cure several diseases, such as gastroenteric and metabolic disorders. The mineral waters of Hankavan are like those of the Yessentuki.

Start the day with a ride to Lake Sevan, the Blue Pearl of Armenia. At an altitude of 1900 m above sea level, it is the largest sweet water lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region. Located up on the cliffs of a small peninsula stands the Monastery of Sevanavank. After lunch in Sevan, continue the ride to Dilijan, a picturesque resort town and spend the night there.

After breakfast at your hotel, ride to Yenokavan village, Apaga Resort, which is one of the best resorts in Armenia. The cozy cottages of the resort combine the traditional style of the Armenian houses with all modern amenities. The resort provides an opportunity for relaxation in the mountains, offers horseback riding, zip-lining, paragliding, and other activities. Have an overnight here.

After an early breakfast, hike to Lastiver, a hiking trail amid fields, forests, and caves, and cross a swift river and small waterfalls. Your hike will take you to get the view of a fabulous waterfall, flowing down the bottom of the canyon. Lovers of extreme adventures will enjoy this road the most. Hike back to Apaga Resort for overnight.

Ride back to Dilijan and, before continuing your trip to Kalavan, visit Haghartsin and Goshavank Monasteries in Dilijan. After breakfast, visit the 13th-century Haghartsin monastery, recently restored by a Muslim Sheikh from the United Arab Emirates. The monastery is easily accessible through paved roads and has a large parking area, a gift shop, bakery, and other facilities. Then, visit the 12th-13th century Monastery of Goshavank, located in the village of Gosh. The 12th-13th century monastery is in the village of Gosh, surrounded by village houses. Spend the night at a guest house in Kalavan village.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will hit the road to Yeghegnadzor village with a stop by Areni. There, enjoy some wine-tasting at Areni Winery. The trip continues to Noravank Monastery, located in a narrow gorge of Armagu River. A gem of the Armenian medieval architecture, the 13th-century monastery is the masterpiece of Master Momik. Spend the rest of the day in Yeghegnadzor and have an overnight in Areni.

The last day of your excursions will take you to Khor Virap Monastery, right on the foot of the biblical Mt. Ararat. The legend of this monastery is associated with St. Gregory the Illuminator, who was imprisoned here for 13 years. Ride back to Yerevan, and have a rest.
