Svaneti Museum of History and Ethnography is located in Mestia. The museum was established in 1936 as a Local Museum but in 2013 the new museum was opened in the modern building according to international standards. Now it is possible to organize temporary exhibitions in a specially arranged space. In addition to all the facilities mentioned, an educational center and a media library were opened in 2015.
